Sue recovered from her cancer and we thought it was time that we got Bruno a mate to thank him for his love. In August 1997 we found Sapphire Star Surprise, in Devon, to us she is Brandy, again from Field Trials Champions stock.

A nervous little girl. She soon settled down and Bruno was very pleased to see her. He would lick her all over her head and ears every morning after breakfast whilst she just sits there.

Brandy had a pancreas problem so we looked for a low fat diet, we were recommended BURNS PET food, she thrived on it so we moved Bruno to it and he also thrived on it

They loved to swim in any water they can find, he would run in any woods and find anything lost or thrown away by others.  All this time they helped to keep me moving. Always making us smile or worry at his latest trick.  He loved to chase cats, squirrels and any bird he can see.

He would love to run across the fields until a small dot in the distance.  When he found a tired pigeon or dead bird he would retrieve as straight as an arrow.

He onced chased the seagulls on Crosby beach disappearing 2 miles into the distance all I could see was flocks of seagulls rising.  I thought I had lost him but when he had all the seagulls in the air he turned and ran back, on seeing me he slowed down and lowered his head as if to say "sorry dad but I could not resist chasing them".  While Brandy stood by me and looked at as if to say "that looks too energetic for me"

Another time he escaped from the garden, not his fault I had not closed the back gate correctly. He had seen the cat across the road and chased it, climbed a 6ft fence into a neighbours garden.  The problem was that he did not have enough sense to climb back when he lost sight of the cat.  So he sat in the back garden for 3 hours not making a sound until he was found.  He rarely barks,  unless he was swimming after swans!!!

He might have grown but still insists on checking our beds out!!

Over the years we caravanned from Inverness to London, from Devon to Oban, they always came with us.  It was their holiday as much as ours.
